The protagonist(my sweet ZilasTT) almost froze to death at the doorstep and forgot the key at home. So there was already a tendency to develop towards an extreme direction from the very start. However, the subsequent warmth made people overlook this somewhat strange beginning I think
I kinda agree with your analysis, it was a little bit off from the start, especially with the fact he was found unconcious and MC had to drag him inside...

Also, Zilas often says that he's not confident about himself and what he does, he even seeks comfort in MC's words and opinions. That says a lot about what's going on in his head. 😭
